TweetDeck could become a Twitter Blue perk

Fans of TweetDeck, Twitter’s alternative social management tool, may need to pony up the privilege of using it in the future. That’s according to code found by Jane Manchun Wongfamous app divers and finders of hidden features.

The Code is found talk about “opening your subscription” when you access the TweetDeck web site. That’s enough of a hint alone, but she did not stop there.

Code within Twitter Blue Feature List References TweetDeck as one of the paid benefits. That could block access to TweetDeck for millions of users because Twitter Blue is not available worldwide.

The new ones @TweetDeck could be a paid feature, exclusively for @TwitterBlue Subscribers according to the code I encountered in the app

Twitter has not really done much with TweetDeck since the purchase of the app in 2011. The inclusion in Twitter Blue could mean that Twitter will actively develop the tool.

That means better, modern UI, possibly new features, and a real reason to subscribe to Twitter Blue. Sure, TweetDeck is free now; making it better could take back some market share from other paid social media management tools.

Some questions remain, however. TweetDeck is great for being able to tweet from many accounts. Will a Twitter Blue subscription be required for each connected account?

Will Twitter have a free version of TweetDeck without any improvements? Just what’s been going on on the social side since Jack’s departure? If you know, send us on Twitter.
