Children leave flowers and teddy bear for dog attack victim Bella-Rae Birch

Children were seen teddy, flowers and balloons left outside Bella-Rae Birch’s house after she was killed in a dog attack.

The 17-month-old died after being killed by a dog in her own home at 3.30pm on Monday, March 22nd. died shortly afterwards from her injuries at the hospital.

The dog was handed over to police at the address and was humanly destroyed. The dog will undergo further forensic examination to determine his breed and whether it is a legal breed under the Dangerous Dogs Act (1991) or not.

Police say Bella-Rae’s family bought the dog just a week before the attack. Since the news of her death, thousands of people have paid homage to Bella-Rae online and dozens have left flowers, balloons and teddy bears on the scene.

A little boy in his school uniform was seen walking up to the cordon and a police officer handed a pink star balloon with ‘Rest and Peace Bella Rae’ written on it, along with a little rabbit teddy bear with the pink nose.

Her family issued a tribute to Bella-Rae through Merseyside police, saying: “As a family we want to thank the community for their support. We ask that we now allow some time and space to try and to come. the tragic loss of our much-loved Bella-Rae. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. ”

In a police press release made close to the scene, Superintendent Steve Brizell said: “The community of Blackbrook and the whole of Merseyside has been alerted to the tragic news today. Officers have been called for a house here on the To visit Bidston Avenue, around 3.50pm yesterday.

“We were called by the family of a 17-month-old girl Bella-Rae Birch. Bella-Rae lost her life in the most unimaginably horrific circumstances and our thoughts are especially with the family and the larger community during this devastating time.”

He added: “At this stage we understand that the family dog ​​they bought just a week ago attacked Bella-Rae in the family home. On the spot, the ambulance and the doctors, unfortunately Bella -Rae died as a result of her injuries.
