Anne Hathaway beat Kelly Clarkson in the Singing Video 4M views

Anne Hathaway’s appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show caused great excitement when the actress beat the singer in a game “Name That Tune” with one of Clarkson’s biggest hits.

A clip of Clarkson collapsing and shame after that Interstellar Star – who was on the show to promote her new AppleTV + series WeCrashed– managed to guess and perform a release of Clarkson’s seminal hit “Since U Been Gone” garnered millions of views on social media this week.

Hathaway managed to beat Clarkson – who won the first season of the reality TV series American Idol I 2002 – on four consecutive rounds of play.

“Can you play a frickin ‘song, I know ?!” Clarkson demanded and even though the band obliged her, she still did not respond quickly enough to beat her guest in what resonated as an incredibly relatable moment of embarrassment.

Co-host Matt Iseman then mocked Clarkson by saying, “And I can remind you, Kelly Clarkson just missed her own song.”

The Kelly Clarkson ShowThe Twitter account shared the clip on Tuesday with the caption: “MIC. DROP. Today, Anne Hathaway and Kelly are joining in a game Sing That Name That Tune with @mattiseman to see who takes the crown!”

The clip has since garnered 4.2 million views at the time of release and has garnered thousands of likes, retweets and comments.

A popular tweet came from Twitter user Alex Abads of Vox, who shared the clip with the caption: “Anne Hathaway is a theater kid, you will never beat a theater kid in these kinds of games (even if you are the untouchable Kelly Clarkson ) “and received more than 170,000 likes.

Another tweet reads: “not Kelly Clarkson deeply underestimated the impact that this song had on damn it for almost an entire generation.”

“Since U Been Gone” is one of Clarkson’s greatest hits from their 2004 album, Break out. It is without a doubt one of the most famous pop songs of the last two decades Rolling Stone Ranking it number 482 of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time in 2010.

Talk to Newsweek about her new series last week, Hathaway revealed that she “had never actually heard of a WeWork.”

WeCrashed follows the founder of WeWork in the spectacular rise in the fall of the company.

“I was actually a little annoyed with myself. I think it’s such a huge story, it’s a little weird that I completely missed it,” Hathaway said.
