General Motors recalls 740K SUVs; Headlights are too bright – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Again, Sports

DETROIT (AP) – General Motors remembers more than 740,000 small SUVs in the US because the light rays may be too bright and cause glare for future drivers.

The recall announced Tuesday comes after U.S. security regulators rejected a request from Detroit Automaker to avoid the recall.

The company recalls GMC terrain SUVs from 2010 through 2017 model year. Documents posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration say that reflections caused by the headlight housings illuminate some areas with too much light. The agency says this may reduce visibility for other drivers, which increases the risk of a crash.

“We are still finalizing an ongoing appeal for the affected vehicles,” said spokesman Dan Flores.

Flores did not know how long it would take for the repair to be completed. GM expects to inform owners by letter starting April 23rd.

The company says in documents that it only appeared to have a complaint from a customer about lights and trees.
