Merseyside police raised concerns for safety
Merseyside police have confirmed that the M53 in both directions was closed at 4.30pm following reports of a concern for a woman’s safety.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: “We can confirm that the emergency services are in Woodchurch, with an incident tonight, Wednesday 23rd March.
At around 4.40pm we were called at junction 3 of the M53 for reports of a concern for a woman’s safety.
“A roadblock is in place on the M53 in both directions between Woodchurch and Birkenhead.
“We would ask that people avoid the area if possible. Thank you for your patience.”
