White House hosts first Easter Egg Roll since 2019

The White House is hosting the first roll of Easter eggs since 2019, after the pandemic ruined plans for the annual event in 2020 and 2021.

First Lady Jill Biden, a longtime teacher, has doubled down this year’s theme “EGGucation”. The children will gather on the south lawn of the White House to roll and hunt eggs. But they will also have the opportunity to see a reading corner, a talent show and a school activity area.

Statements are being made by President Biden and the First Lady, and are attended by the President, First Lady, Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Knight Doug Emhoff.

The White House estimates that 30,000 people will attend the event held on the southern turf throughout the day, although a rain forecast could deter some visitors. According to the White House, the families of the military and crew members and the families of the USS Delaware, the U.S. naval submarine sponsored by First Lady Jill Biden. Tickets were distributed to the general public through an online public raffle.

The White House Easter egg roll has been a tradition since the late 19th century, and presidents have participated over the years. Former President Barack Obama once played basketball with children during the event.

Mr. Biden spent the Easter weekend at Camp David.
