Schoolchildren visiting a farm for the first time are often overwhelmed by a “stimulus overload” that helps them understand where their food comes from, according to a charity.
A farmer who hosted young visitors to his Staffordshire site said some of them had never seen a cow before.
The children arrived under a government-supported Country Trust scheme.
Katie Busfield, coordinator, said: “Farmers are all really passionate about their jobs and they really enjoy sharing this world with the children.”
