October 2003 – David Gest is suing Ms Minnelli for $10 million, alleging he suffered lasting emotional and physical damage as a result of beatings he received at the hands of her. The case is dismissed in September 2006.
2004 – Minnelli is being sued by her former bodyguard, M’Hammed Soumayah, for assault and assault, breach of contract and sexual harassment. She counters by claiming that he violated the confidentiality terms of his employment. The case will be settled out of court in November 2009 and all terms of the settlement are confidential.
January 2007 – After months of bitter accusations from both sides, Minnelli and fourth husband, David Gest, settle their differences and agree to a divorce through no fault of either side.
