Want to help people in Ukraine? Here are ways to donate

Americans eager to help people Ukraine how the Russian army free that the country of Eastern Europe can give to various organizations that already offer support.

It is estimated at 1.5 million people have fled Ukraine for neighboring countries, while European Union officials predict that up to 7 million could eventually be displaced. Below is a list of charities and other groups asking for donations to help Ukrainians.

Airbnb.org. Airbnb’s non-profit organization is asking people, especially those living in European countries near Ukraine, to register to offer temporary housing to Ukrainian refugees or make a donation for their stays. The San Francisco-based company is too is committed to hosting up to 100,000 fleeing Ukraine.

CARE. The international humanitarian group provides food, water and other items to families fleeing violence in Ukraine. Contribute here.

Convoy of Hope. The disaster relief group says it has partnered with a local Polish organization to provide meals to refugees entering Poland, as well as to deliver food, water and other commodities throughout the region. Woman here.

CORE. The non-profit emergency response organization is based in Poland and distributes hygiene kits and thermal blankets, as well as emergency cash assistance to help families resettle. Contribute here.

Doctors Without Borders. Healthcare organization staff remain in Ukraine and are “looking for ways to respond to medical and humanitarian needs as the conflict evolves.” Support here.

International Committee of the Red Cross. The Swiss-based organization is supporting the work of the Ukrainian Red Cross in helping those affected by the war. Donate to the ICRC.

International Medical Corps. The top organization has teams in Ukraine and surrounding regions to provide medical and mental health services. Link to contribute.

“Keep the Ukrainian media up and running” is a GoFundMe campaign for journalists in Ukraine that also aims to help journalists move and continue their work from neighboring countries. Donations can be made here.

Kyiv Independent. The English-language news site has launched a GoFundMe campaign asking for support.

Razom for Ukraine. Launched in 2014 and dedicated to building a stronger democracy in Ukraine, the nonprofit is now “focused on buying medical supplies for critical situations such as blood loss and other tactical medicine items.” . Here’s a list of supplies you’ve already purchased and a call for more support.

Peace Sunflower. The current mission of the non-profit organization is to provide medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by violence in Ukraine. Accept donations through your Facebook page.

UNICEF. The global group for the protection of children is working to provide humanitarian supplies to families without safe water or electricity due to the conflict. Contributions can be made here.

United Way worldwide. The world’s largest privately funded nonprofit has created a humanitarian crisis relief fund that is stepping up to provide transportation, housing, food and medicine, including children’s supplies such as baby formula. . Children’s voices. The Ukraine-based charity has been providing psychological counseling, including art therapy, to children affected by the war in the east of the country since 2015, according to its site. The group is currently helping children and families in Ukraine, including helping with evacuations.

World Central Cuisine. Founded by renowned chef José Andrés after an earthquake that devastated Haiti in 2010, the group offers food to people in need around the world.
