Nadhim Zahawi, the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, said he was “sorry” after being challenged over the turmoil in financial markets after the government’s mini-budget.
He spoke on the BBC’s Question Time, responding to a prompt from another panelist, broadcaster Piers Morgan.
Mr Zahawi began by praising the PM for her conference speech and the actions she was taking. But he was again pressed for a “simple apology” by Piers Morgan and then replied: “Of course I’m sorry”.
