International Women’s Day: Jess Phillips names UK women killed by men

Jess Phillips – Labour’s shadow Secretary for Domestic Violence and Protection – has named all the women killed by men in the UK in the past 12 months.

At what is now an annual event, the Birmingham MP Yardley was given extra time to name each one in a parliamentary debate on International Women’s Day. She thanked the Counting Dead Women Project for providing the names.

The Labor MP recalled last year’s list ended with the name of Sarah Everard, who was murdered by a Metropolitan Police officer.

“Here are the names of the women who have been killed since that supposed turning point,” she told MPs.
