Royal Mail Christmas postal strike to go ahead after talks fail

Strikes planned for Black Friday weekend and the run-up to Christmas continue after talks between Royal Mail and the Communication Workers Union ended without an agreement.

Delivery is disrupted by ten more days of strikes during the busiest time of year for the postal service.

Royal Mail said it had made its “best and last deal” and accused the union of “holding Christmas for ransom”.

The CWU will hold a 48-hour strike Thursday and Friday.
