Elaine Quijano is an anchor for CBS News NetworkCBS News’ leading 24/7 streaming news service and CBS News correspondent, which contributes to all CBS News broadcasts and platforms.
In his role on CBS News, Quijano presents the nightly political program “Red And Blue.” He also presents the Sunday edition of “CBS Weekend News” and his report appears on “CBS Mornings” and “CBS Evening News.”
During the 2016 presidential campaign, she also directed CBS News’ political streaming coverage and was selected by the Presidential Debate Committee to moderate the 2016 Vice Presidential debate. It was the first time a network presenter digital would moderate a national debate in an election campaign.
Quijano joined CBS News in 2010. New York-based, he has covered a variety of stories, including the Boston Marathon bombings, the Sandy Superstorm, and the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Quijano was also part of the CBS News team that received an Alfred I. duPont Award for coverage of the 2012 Newtown shooting network. In 2011 Quijano revealed in a report that the White House did not send letters. of presidential condolences to the families of service members who committed suicide. Following his report, President Obama reversed that policy.
Prior to joining CBS News, he worked for CNN as a correspondent in Washington, DC. While there, he reported several times, including to the White House, the Pentagon, and the Supreme Court.
Quijano holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
