After receiving an anonymous tip on Facebook, Georgie discovered intimate photos of her being shared online.
She remembered who took the photos – and later an ex-partner confessed to sharing the pictures. But Georgie then found out that the wording of the current anti-abuse legislation meant his confession might have been what protected him.
Georgie has campaigned with groups like the End Violence Against Women Coalition and #NotYourPorn to change legislation on the abuse of intimate images.
She spoke to the BBC ahead of the government’s long-awaited online safety bill, due to be published this week, which the government said will address a huge list of online harms, including the misuse of intimate images .
