Rail travelers are being warned to avoid traveling on Christmas Eve amid more strikes over pay and working conditions.
The planned December 24 strike by RMT members will have a serious impact on services, Network Rail said.
It advised passengers to only travel if “absolutely necessary” or to consider traveling on another day.
Most people should try to finish their journeys by 3pm before union members leave home at 6pm, she added.
The RMT workers’ strike will last until December 27 at 06:00.

Network Rail added that some rail companies will be unable to offer services on Christmas Eve, with further “significant implications” between Christmas and the New Year.
Network Rail Managing Director Andrew Haines said: “I am so sorry that our passengers are having to bear the brunt of the needless RMT strike during a trade show [pay] Offer is on the table.”
Previous RMT strikes have had a major impact on services across England, Scotland and Wales. Union members have turned down offers amid disputes over pay, job security and working conditions.
The RMT has announced further strikes for January 3-4 and January 6-7.
