P&O cancels services and tells ships to stay in port

P&O Ferries suspended its services “in preparation for a corporate announcement” later on Thursday.

The ferry operator said it will not be liquidated but all ferries have been ordered to remain in port.

As a result, some departures scheduled for today have been canceled and passengers have been urged to use other companies operating their routes.

P&O services planned today include 14 between Dover and Calais and three between Liverpool and Dublin.

A spokesman said: “P&O Ferries is not going into liquidation. We have asked all ships to come alongside to prepare a corporate announcement. Until then, P&O services will not be running and we are advising travelers on alternative arrangements.”
