Chloe Madeley has hit back at those who question why she continued to train during her pregnancy.

The expectant mother explained how she adapted her training regimen as she prepares to welcome a child into the world.

Chloe, 34, is expecting her first baby with her husband, rugby star James Haskell.

On Wednesday, the daughter of television legends Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan announced on Instagram that she had reached the “halfway” stage of her pregnancy.

The fitness fanatic then answered some frequently asked questions that she has been facing since she discovered she had a baby.

“In my first trimester, I tried so hard to walk the dog every day and keep up with my weekly gym classes (4-5 PW),” she explains as she responds as her gym classes have changed in recent months.

“I knew how important it was to stay active during pregnancy, not only for my body, but also for my baby’s health, birth and postnatal recovery.

“But through week 2 of the illness and headache, I finally accepted that it was just not something I could do.”

She then stated that she could not train all of December and January, but resumed normal training in the 14th week of her pregnancy.

“Every woman, body and pregnancy is different. Instead, I decided to find out what my body did and did not like. After almost ten years of training, I am now pretty good at reading my body,” Chloe told her followers on Instagram .

She then discovered that she had cut off high-intensity workouts and was not pushing herself into something too strenuous at this point of her pregnancy.

Fans of the star appreciate her candid and honest update, with a comment: “Thanks for sharing Chloe. I’m a great advocate for exercise during pregnancy (if OK to do so). The 1st trimester is unreal is not it? “

Another follower wrote: “Thank you for being honest … I found it so hard to keep training when everyone else seemed to be. Pre-pregnancy = Triathlon. Pregnancy = 5 min walk as performance. Happy Hallway! !! “

Chloe and husband James announced their pregnancy last month, after two years of struggling to conceive a baby.

The expectant mother is aware not to share too much about her pregnancy on social media as she is aware of others going through similar struggles.

“Well, I assume there are a few reasons why I do not post alone or constantly about being pregnant …” she explained during a Q&A on Instagram earlier this month.

“1. As wonderful as it is, there’s actually a lot more to my life than the fact that I’m pregnant. A lot more.

“I remember trying for 2 years, and it was hard to see that everyone around me was pregnant.”

Chloe added that she never felt “jealous” about other people’s pregnancies, just “sad”.
