Student from Norton says stroke ‘turned his life upside down’

A college student who thought he had a hangover actually had a stroke that he says “turned his life upside down.”

Jameel Razak, now 25, had been to the pub with his brother and some friends and woke up the next day with nausea and a headache.

He later collapsed and North Tees Hospital Ambulance immediately diagnosed him with a stroke.

He said he’s tried to stay positive during his recovery but has spoken about his depression after “missing so much” last year.

Jameel’s health is improving and he will graduate from university this year with hopes of pursuing a masters in journalism in the future.
