Top Boy Season 1 Final Recap
Dushane’s deal with Jamie
Enter Top Boy Season 2, Dushane Hill seems to be the Top Boy in East London again.
At the end of Season 1, Lizzie (played by Lisa Dwan) agreed to become her supplier, selling him 15kg of drugs a month.
Knowing that this was a mammoth task he could not do alone, the audience half expected him to turn to his longtime companion, Sully (Kane Robinson) for help. But instead he turned to his arch-feminist Jamie to become the biggest drug supplier in London.
In another unexpected film, Dushane offered to help Jamie get out of prison. He hacked Jamie’s CCTV, proving that the green bag that helped send him to jail belonged to Ats (Keiyon Cook).
The young Atticus was involved in the drug world and tried to earn money for his mother so that they could fight their deportation.
By order of Dushane, Jaq (Jasmine Jobson) instructs the Ats to plant a backpack full of drugs in Jamie’s apartment, leading to the arrest of Jamie’s innocent brothers Aaron (Hope Ikpoku) and Stefan (Araloyin Oshunremi).
To protect his family, Jamie told police that the drugs and weapons belonged to him, resulting in a 20-year prison sentence.
Talk to Newsweek and other press before you Top Boy Season 2 premiere, Ashley Walters, who plays Dushane, may be looking for another live post-summer house in season 2.
He said: “I think he evolved [since Season 1] in the way he is, he seeks the way out. I think this is what we are where we find him this season.
“He may have had a realization that he can not do this forever and he wants to know what’s for himself. Is this settling down with Shelley (Simbiatu” Lil Simz “Ajikawo)? Is this having children? But I? thinking that whole journey, he realizes clearly that he has a love for power. He has a love for the game in which he is, and without that, what is he? “
The undercover cops
In the very first scene of Top Boy Season 1, viewers were introduced to Lee (Josef Altin) and Sarah (Isla Jackson-Ritchie), two drug addicts who got their fix in the summerhouse estate.
They showed up throughout the season and even spied on Jamie’s gangs for Dris (Shone Romulus) and Dushane, but in the final, their true identities were revealed in a huge twist.
Lee and Sarah are actually undercover officers, examining Dushane and his wider drug network.
The episode came to a dramatic end, where Sarah said to her room full of colleagues, “This guy should not be on our streets. He should be inside for the rest of his life.”

Is Sully done with Summerhouse?
All over Top Boy Season 1, Sully has suffered from extreme PTSD in a house fire after the death of Jason (Ricky Smarts). As the last episode came to an end, the emotional Sully was seen waiting outside his daughter’s school as he watched his ex-girlfriend go to her home.
With Dushane and Sully’s relationship already strained, and the fact that Dushane turned to Jamie for help, says that Sully may be trying to go a different way in life.
Walters said Newsweek and other press: “The idea is from the beginning of this show, I always said it must be right, you know, and this kind of lifestyle, when you start this journey in life, the drug game, there are only three Places to stop: back to where you started, in a grave or in a cell for the rest of your life. It’s that simple. “
As for Dushane’s personal journey, Walters remarked: “Many of you [audiences] they are literally for him to win and make all the money, but I think most people root for him to wake up and realize, you know, take care of your family and do the right thing in life. And that’s the beauty of this show. “
Modie was killed
After escaping from police custody, Modie (David Omoregie) regained control of the London Fields gang.
His first mission was to hide Dushane and Sully in their hiding place, but he eventually failed. However, the fashion could force Lizzie (at the time, London Fields supplier Dushane was trying to win) to work for him and Jamie, who led the gang in its infancy.
Modie’s semi-success came shortly after he was shot dead by police on the street, freeing Lizzie and Jamie.
Is Dris dead?
Sully had no choice but to kill Dris (Shone Romulus) after betraying Summerhouse, Sully and Dushane while working for London Fields.
In the last episode, Jermaine (Ashley Thomas) offered Dris, whose health was deteriorating, more money, which would have allowed him to offer a better life for his young daughter. However, part of the offer meant that Dris gave up Sully and Dushane’s place.
Finally, Dris agreed to Jermaine’s demands, and moments later, Modie and his gang hid Dushane and Sully in their hiding place.
In an intense scene, Sully and Dris were face to face on the roof of the Summerhouse Estate, with Sully ready to shoot Dris for his disloyalty. Viewers never saw Dris ‘death on screen, but guns were fired, and many viewers questioned Dris’ fate.
When Dris is really dead, he leaves a young daughter Erin in the care of her mother, who is currently in prison.
Fortunately, fans do not have to wait too long to find out what happens next.
TOP BOY Season 2 will launch on Netflix on March 18, 2022.
