A man was killed on Saturday night outside a bar in downtown Boston near Faneuil Hall, police said.<\/p>\n

Boston police received a call just before 7 a.m. for a measurement outside 33 Union Street, which is just a short walk from the popular marketplace. Responding officers found the victim with life-threatening injuries, and he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, Supt. Felipe Colon said at a news conference at 9:30 p.m. <\/p>\n

The victim’s name has not been released.<\/p>\n

The measurement took place at a number of well-known establishments such as Union Oyster House and Hennessy’s Bar. Boston Police yellow crime scene band could be seen blocking the street in front of Paddy O’s, and there was plenty of evidence markers visible, too.<\/p>\n

No arrests have been made, and murder investigators are on the scene, according to police.<\/p>\n

The length of Union Street is closed to accommodate the crime scene investigation, Colon said, and bars in the area will be closed for the rest of Saturday night. It was not immediately clear whether they would reopen on Sunday as planned.<\/p>\n

The sting comes the night before South Boston’s return to St. Louis.<\/p>\n

There is no threat to the public, according to Colon, and people should not worry about visiting the area on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Authorities are trying to determine if local bars have surveillance video that could be helpful in their investigation, and police are also asking for the public’s help at this time.<\/p>\n
