The Canadian health agency has issued a recall for another smartwatch due to fears that the accessory could potentially burn its users and pose a fire risk. The agency advises anyone who has purchased a Decathlon Kiprun GPS 550 smartwatch to “immediately stop” using the watch and claims that the battery “may overheat during charging or use and cause burns or present a fire hazard.”<\/p>\n

To date, there have been no reports of burns affecting one of its carriers in Canada as a result of the defective watch. CTV<\/em> Reports 124 units were sold in the country between July 2020 and February 2022. Anyone who buys the watch can reach out to any Decathlon point of sale for a refund. <\/p>\n

Two weeks earlier, Health Canada reported that Fitbit’s Ionic Smartwatch had been recalled for a similar issue related to an overheated battery. The watches in question are four different types with different colors, each with a 3.6 inch color LCD display and four days life due to its lithium battery.
