A young Indian team has completed the 2022 Asia Cup World Ranking Stage 1 tournament with eight medals – two gold and six silver – at Surakhun Stadium, here on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The men’s recurve team, made up of national champions Parth Salunkhe, Rahul Nagarwal and Dhiraj Bommadevara, has changed as a team has won gold after being drawn in individual events.<\/p>\n

The Indian men\u2019s recurve team defeated Kazakhstan 6-2 in the final to win the gold medal. On the other hand, 19-year-old compound archer Sakshi Chaudhary, who won silver at the Youth World Championships last year, defeated compatriot Parneet Kaur 142-140 for the Yellow Metal.<\/p>\n

Even if India won two gold medals, the contingent would hurt the missed opportunities lost in the other five finals in a depleted field without heavyweights South Korea, China, Japan and Chinese Taipei.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Bangladesh has won three gold medals.<\/p>\n

The Indian women’s team of Ridhi, Tisha Punia and Tanisha Verma lost in the final with 4-5 against Bangladesh and finished with silver. Only four teams participated in the event. The Indian team defeated the hosts Thailand 6-2 in the semifinals. In the final of the Mixed Team, Ridhi and Parth Salunkhe also lost against Bangladesh 3-5.<\/p>\n

The Indian men’s and women’s teams narrowly missed out on the summit clash.<\/p>\n

While Rishab Yadav, Priyansh and Prathamesh Jawkar lost to Kazakhstan 232-233, the ladies team of Sakshi Chaudhary, Pragati and 15-year-old Aditi Gopichand Swami lost to Thailand 230-231.<\/p>\n

In other individual events, Rishabh Yadav missed two darts in the men\u2019s compound final against Iranian Mohammadsaleh Palizban to lose 126-145.<\/p>\n

In a field of eight men, Rishabh Yadav, who finished second, beat Bangladesh Nawaz Ahmed Rakib 148-144 and Iranian Sayed Kowsar 148-145 to reach the final. Menhs Compound Archer Prathamesh Jawkar and Womens Recurve Archer Tisha Punia, also lost their Bronze Medal Play-Offs.<\/p>\n

Particularly big names like Atanu Das, Deepika Kumari, Tarundeep Rai, Pravin Jadhav and Abhishek Verma were not competing in this event.<\/p>\n
