Florida Panthers<\/b><\/h5>\n

Owen Tippett<\/span> made his Flyers debut on Sunday against the New York Islanders.<\/p>\n

The striker was bought at a store that was sent forward Claude Giroux<\/span> at the Florida Panthers on Saturday. Philadelphia also won a first-round pick in the 2024 NHL draft or 2025 NHL draft, and a third-round pick in the 2023 NHL draft; Florida also got forward prospects Connor Bunnaman and German Rubtsov, in a fifth-round pick in the 2024 draft. <\/p>\n

Tippett played on a line with center Morgan Frost<\/span> and left side Oskar Lindblom<\/span>. <\/p>\n

“If we played against him earlier in the year, I would use the terminology, ‘weight for his game,’ in the sense of being strong on the puck,” Flyers coach Mike Yeo said Sunday. “Competitive at the puck. Kind of guy who can protect it and hang on to it, and force you to be really strong on your control game. Of course there’s a threat. <\/p>\n

“He’s a shooter. He wants to shoot. He has a great shot. That’s something I think can be really good for our group.” <\/p>\n

Tippett has scored 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 42 games this season. The 23-year-old has scored four points (two goals, two assists) in his last 24 games, including one goal in his last eight. – Wes Crosby<\/i><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Carolina Hurricanes<\/b><\/h5>\n

Jordan Martinook<\/span> will be out for at least a few weeks for hurricanes with a lower body injury, coach Rod Brind’Amour said Sunday.<\/p>\n

The striker left in the third period of a 3-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday; he did not play in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Washington Capitals on Friday.<\/p>\n

Martinook has scored 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 44 games this season.<\/p>\n

“It’s definitely worse than we hoped on that front,” Brind’Amour said of the injury. “He’ll be back, so it’s good.”<\/p>\n

Defender Tony DeAngelo<\/span> will return to the lineup against the New York Rangers on Sunday (6 p.m. ET; BSSO, MSG +, ESPN +, NHL LIVE). He missed 11 games with a lower body injury.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Boston Bruins<\/b><\/h5>\n

Patrice Bergeron<\/span> missed his third straight game when the Bruins play the Montreal Canadiens on Monday (7 p.m. ET; NHLN, SN, RDS, NESN, NHL LIVE).<\/p>\n

“He was today, will not travel,” Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said Sunday. “So he’s out for Montreal. [Will] re-evaluated later in the week. I would put him as an option [for] the home game Thursday (against the Tampa Bay Lightning), but it’s not sure.<\/p>\n

Bergeron scored on Tuesday in a 2-1 overtime victory over the Chicago Blackhawks, but did not travel for his game in the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday. Cassidy said the injury was linked to a previous arm injury.<\/p>\n

Bergeron has scored 45 points (17 goals, 28 assists) and 56 games this season<\/p>\n

Forward Jack Studnicka<\/span> could miss the match on Monday. <\/p>\n

“He blocked a shot in Winnipeg (a Friday),” Cassidy said. “So, tried it today and was uncomfortable outside. …” I think he will (travel). I have to find out. I assume he will come with us unless they have excluded him from what they have not yet told me. – Amalie Benjamin<\/i><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh Penguins<\/b><\/h5>\n

Mark Friedman<\/span> signed a two-year, $ 1.55 million contract with the Penguins Sunday. It has an average annual value of $ 775,000. <\/p>\n

The 26-year-old defender was able to become an unrestricted free agent after this season.<\/p>\n

“Friedman is an impact defender who has strong offensive instincts and plays with an edge,” said Penguins general manager Ron Hextall. “He has added depth to our defense corps and we are excited to see his further development over the next two years.” <\/p>\n

Hextall named Friedman in the third round (No. 86) of the 2014 NHL draft as Philadelphia Flyers general manager. Pittsburgh abolished Friedman on February 24, 2021 from Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Friedman has played in eight of Pittsburgh’s last 10 games after appearing in a Nov. 14-Feb game. 25. He has an NHL career-high five points (one goal, four assists) in 20 games this season. <\/p>\n
