The Russia-Ukraine war has raised the price of oil and other energy sources such as gas and coal, thereby increasing the cost of electricity, particularly to remote islands and isolated areas in Indonesia, which are still mainly powered by diesel-generated electricity. ofh\u00e4nken.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Indonesia is currently holding the presidency of the Group of 20 this year on the theme of “recovering together, recovering stronger”. One of the group’s focus programs is to reduce climate change through the development of renewable energies.<\/p>\n

The transition to renewable energy has three priorities; Access, technology and financing. In Indonesia there are many potential sources of renewable energy such as solar, wind, water, geothermal and biomass and the government has committed to accelerate the phasing out of fossil fuels like coal and oil.<\/p>\n
