InterSystems, a data technology provider, has announced the official release of its HealthShare Health Connect cloud, a new platform-as-a-service (PaaS). <\/p>\n

The company says the PaaS streamlines interoperability and data integration between clinical systems and applications while managing the entire infrastructure. It says that Health Connect Cloud offers enhanced data automation and management capabilities to improve patient outcomes.<\/p>\n

Even though the industry has historically been slow to adopt cloud technologies, many healthcare organizations are now joining the more than 70% of organizations that have migrated at least some workloads to the cloud. <\/p>\n

“In healthcare, migration and data storage in the cloud is a sensitive process that requires a high level of security,” said Alex MacLeod, InterSystems Director of Healthcare Commercial Initiatives. <\/p>\n

“A common misconception that has contributed to slower adoption is that the cloud is less secure than on-premise services. But in reality, 94% of businesses that rely on cloud services report significant improvements and online security after the migration of their data. “<\/p>\n

He says Health Connect Cloud enables healthcare organizations to take advantage of the cloud’s inherent security benefits while offering massive scalability and high availability, all while minimizing the time and effort required to install and operate the system.<\/p>\n

The Health Connect Cloud features include:<\/p>\n

Cloud Transition Assistance: <\/strong>Address learning curves around cloud migration by managing infrastructure on behalf of clients. This allows organizations to connect more quickly and easily distributed datasets and improve workflows across the care continuum.<\/p>\n

Accelerated integration:<\/strong> Moves efficient workloads and information on cloud solutions and on-premise services to quickly and securely communicate sensitive patient information between different applications.<\/p>\n

Accuracy and interoperability: <\/strong>Manage high volumes of data and promote interoperability between different institutions, eliminate delays and share false information.
Security and Privacy: InterSystems is known for delivering secure and available systems that can integrate critical applications at any time.<\/p>\n

Support for HL7 FHIR interactions:<\/strong> Provide healthcare organizations with the resources, required translations, and intuitive tools for personalized transformations between healthcare data agents, for example HL7 V2 and FHIR, or a non-standard format in FHIR to achieve unmatched interoperability and flexibility.<\/p>\n
