Rishi Sunak has defended the measures outlined in Wednesday’s spring statement, saying they included tax cuts that would reward people for their hard work.<\/p>\n

The Chancellor said the handling of the coronavirus, which he described as the biggest economic shock in more than 300 years, had been “extraordinary”.<\/p>\n
