Earlier requests for early release had been rejected.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div >\n<p >The trial followed notoriety Shkreli gained in 2015 after the company he ran increased the price of long-established drug Daraprim from $13.50 (\u00a310.93) to $750 (\u00a3607), which is used for the treatment of parasitic infections. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div >\n<p >The unpopular move and his uncompromising defense earned him the nickname &#8220;Pharma Bro.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div >\n<p >Earlier this year, a Manhattan judge also found that the move and others he orchestrated to stop competitors from manufacturing the drug violated US competition laws.
