(CNN)<\/cite>US Open champion Emma Raducanu says she’s not sure she’ll be fit enough to compete at this year’s Wimbledon after suffering a “freak” at a WTA 250 event in Nottingham, England on Tuesday sustained injury.<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old had to give up her game against Switzerland’s Viktorija Golubic because of an apparent problem with her team. <\/p>\n
It comes as world No. 3 Alexander Zverev has had surgery on a torn ligament in his right ankle which will almost certainly rule him out of Wimbledon. <\/p>\n
The injury forced Zverev to pull out of his match against eventual champion Rafael Nadal at the French Open, screaming in pain as he seemed to roll his ankle. <\/p>\n
The grass-court major is set to start on June 27 and while Zverev is unlikely to recover, Raducanu says she has “no idea” if she will compete. <\/p>\n
\u201cFirst game, absolute freak. I think I drew something. I’m not sure what exactly happened. I just came off the pitch,” Raducanu told reporters after the game.<\/p>\n
“It’s on the side of my body. It feels, I don’t know, maybe around my rib or something.<\/p>\n
“It might just have cramped and cramped and then it’s really bad for a couple of days. But I have no idea. I can’t diagnose myself, so I’ll have it checked out.”<\/p>\n
Raducanu, who reached the last 16 at Wimbledon last year, also bemoaned the series of fitness issues she’s struggled with since winning her first Grand Slam. <\/p>\n
She has not found consistency since her breakthrough year and is currently without a coach.<\/p>\n

Zverev starts rehab<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n

Zverev is now in rehab after his operation. <\/p>\n
The 25-year-old is chasing the first Grand Slam trophy of his career but will have to wait for his injury to recover. <\/p>\n
“We all have our own life journey. It’s a part of me. Next week I’ll hit a career-high rank of No. 2 in the world, but this morning I had to have surgery,” Zverev said in a post on Instagram- Tuesday. <\/p>\n
\u201cFollowing a further examination in Germany, we received confirmation that all three collateral ligaments in my right ankle had been torn.<\/p>\n
“In order to return to competition as soon as possible, to ensure all ligaments heal properly and to regain full stability in my ankle, surgery was the best choice. <\/p>\n
“My rehab starts now and I will do whatever it takes to come back stronger than ever!”<\/p>\n
