This could cause the vehicle to move away or move in an &#8220;unexpected direction,&#8221; according to federal regulators. <\/p>\n<p>The recall covers several Ford vehicle models: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Escape 2013-2019<\/li>\n<li>    2013-2018 C-Max<\/li>\n<li>2013-2016 Merger<\/li>\n<li>Transit Connect 2013-2021<\/li>\n<li>2015-2018 Edge <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;A damaged or missing bus can prevent the vehicle from moving in the intended direction and cause the vehicle to move in an unexpected direction,&#8221; the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said in a statement.  &#8220;In addition, the vehicle may roll after the driver has selected the parking position. Any scenario increases the risk of an accident or injury.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In a product recall report, Ford said it was aware of six reports alleging property damage and four reports of personal injury related to the issue of the recall.  <\/p>\n<p>Dealers will replace the cap and add a protective cover, free of charge, for owners of retired cars.
