The recent earnings propelled the company above rival Netflix, which had slightly less at the end of the second quarter <span >221 million subscribers<\/span>. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We had an outstanding quarter, with our world-class creative and business teams driving outstanding performance at our domestic theme parks, strong increases in live sports viewership and significant subscriber growth in our streaming services,&#8221; Disney CEO Bob Chapek said in prepared remarks.  .<\/p>\n<p>The majority of new Disney+ subscribers came from outside the US and Canada.
