{"id":5050,"date":"2022-03-08T03:31:04","date_gmt":"2022-03-08T03:31:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tahrir2day.com\/news\/2022\/03\/08\/patsy-clines-dream-home\/"},"modified":"2022-03-08T03:31:04","modified_gmt":"2022-03-08T03:31:04","slug":"patsy-clines-dream-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tahrir2day.com\/news\/2022\/03\/08\/patsy-clines-dream-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Patsy Cline&#8217;s &#8220;Dream Home&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<section >\n<p><em>&#8220;I wish I could come back<br \/>In my neighborhood,<br \/>where good people<br \/>they all love you as their own &#8220;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This was the lyrics to the 1955 song, &#8220;Come On In And Make Yourself At Home,&#8221; by country music superstar Patsy Cline.<\/p>\n<p>So when I found out that his house in Goodlettsville, Tennessee (a suburb outside of Nashville) was on the market, I did this &#8230; I stayed at home &#8230; in the kitchen &#8230; on the piano. .. and in the living room.  room. <\/p>\n<p>Tom Courtois and his spouse, Steven, have owned the house, known as &#8220;Patsy Cline&#8217;s Dream Home,&#8221; since 2011. <\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Click on the video player below to view the Roman Feeser report: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<figure >\n<div >\n    <iframe ><\/iframe>\n  <\/div><figcaption><span ><br \/>\n      <cite>&#8220;The Dream House&#8221; by Patsy Cline<\/cite> per<br \/>\n      <cite>CBS Sunday morning<\/cite> on YouTube<br \/>\n    <\/span><br \/>\n  <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe most important thing is the bathroom, it\u2019s all original,\u201d Courtois said.[It] it was his pride and joy.  &#8220;Because of the stories I heard, when someone came to visit her, she would take them and show them her bathroom.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, Steven died last year and Tom made the difficult decision to sell the historic home.  &#8220;Steven loved to decorate and get things back to that mid-century look, and this house was the perfect style for that. I can tell you there were four layers of wallpaper everywhere, so it took almost 3 years to restore the house to life. Again as before &#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>For Tom and Steven, the restoration was a labor of love.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Some of the other things, you know, the other owners had carpeting. I took out the carpet, you know, the hardwood floors are still original. They&#8217;re never finished,&#8221; he said.  &#8220;We had to replace the dining room mural because it was no longer there &#8230; But we tried to save as much of the original decor as possible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure ><span ><\/span><figcaption ><span >Patsy Cline&#8217;s home in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, outside Nashville. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>                  <span ><\/p>\n<p>            CBS News<\/p>\n<p>                      <\/span><br \/>\n              <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Cline&#8217;s house had been bought with royalties from her most notable hits such as &#8220;Walking After Midnight&#8221;, &#8220;Crazy&#8221; and &#8220;I Fall To Pieces&#8221;.  However, the life of the country music singer at home, about 10 months, was cut short, after his untimely death in a plane crash 90 miles outside Nashville. <\/p>\n<p>Her daughter, Julie Fudge, recalled: &#8220;We moved here in May 1962,&#8221; she told Feeser.  &#8220;And then when my mother died in March 1963, my brother and I didn&#8217;t continue to live here consistently.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>His father sold the house in 1966. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This isn&#8217;t the first time I&#8217;ve been back in 50 years. But when I climbed the sidewalk, it reminded me of the day my furniture arrived. spring, and we had chosen furniture for most of the house and my bedroom was coming in. So I ran down the sidewalk and fell and scoured my knee, of course, well, my mom and grandma &#8220;And what did you do? You cleaned it and put Mercurochrome on it. Now, Mercurochrome didn&#8217;t burn like MethylAid, but it did make your knee orange. So, I had that little orange stain on my knee and then they moved in. My beautiful French-style bedroom with the canopy and the small toilet desk with the chair and the white cushion seat And, of course, I went in and went upstairs with my knees orange and I left a mark on the first day.<\/p>\n<p>The house has recently been sold for over half a million dollars. <\/p>\n<p>For Courtois, the idea of \u200b\u200bleaving this historic house has not been easy.  &#8220;I love living in the house. It&#8217;s a testament to the longevity of Patsy Cline who is still here, and is as popular as others. [stars] with such a short career.  It is difficult.  After 10 years, you put your heart and soul into it.
