(CNN)<\/cite>“The Nick Cannon Show” will end its first season but will not return for a second.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Cannon spoke about his talk show cancellation, calling it the “business” part of television.<\/p>\n
“It is interesting. This is show business and the biggest word is business,” he said. “I show up bright and early every day to give you a show and I’m also a businessman. So a dream has come true. I want to expand and move up. We’re not going anywhere, but it’s about expanding my audience. You have become my family. Thanks. We laugh together, we cry together, we pray together. I do what I can and we let God do what I cannot.\u201d<\/p>\n
He assured viewers he’ll finish the season with more shows and said he always has something in the works.<\/p>\n
“This is not the last show,” he said. \u201cWe have shows that will be running for a month. This was a blessing and a dream come true. Thank you for letting me come to your home. I always have plans!\u201d<\/p>\n
The Nick Cannon Show is scheduled to end in May. <\/p>\n
