Some Twitter users were unable to tweet on Wednesday after the site experienced technical problems.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Account holders received a message that read, “You have exceeded the daily limit for sending tweets.” <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Outage tracking website DownDetector reported the error just before 22:00 GMT.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Elon Musk has been shedding Twitter’s workforce in recent months since acquiring the platform for $44 billion (\u00a336.5 billion) last October.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Last month, the Tesla and SpaceX boss said Twitter had about 2,300 employees — down from about 8,000 when he took over. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

For months, experts have been warning that such deep cuts could cause technical problems, although it’s not yet clear whether the reduced workforce was to blame for Wednesday’s outage. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    It seems that part of the outage was soon fixed and many users said they could tweet. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Some reported being notified by Twitter that they had exceeded the 2,400 tweets per day limit, even if they didn’t post anything on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Account holders had also reported problems with Twitter messages. Several users said they can’t access TweetDeck – a dashboard that can be used with Twitter. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    It is not yet clear how many people were affected. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    \u201cTwitter may not work as expected for some of you. sorry for the trouble We are aware of this and are working to fix it,” Twitter said. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Over the past few weeks, many users have complained about bugs when using Twitter – including some who have claimed that they can increase the reach of tweets by suspending their accounts. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
