Kamaru Usman met Conor McGregorhis world-weight belt belts with a brutally cold death threat.
Notorious, who has been out of the Octagon since a broken leg Dustin Poirier last July, remained in the spotlight.
Now look back at the UFC this summer, McGregor has made it clear that he plans to compete for the welterweight belt and dethrone Usman as champion.
A plan met with an icy warning from the Nigerian, who is currently ranked as the best pound for pound fighter by the UFC.
It reads: “You want a murder scene in the Octagon.”

Usman has ruled over the world weight division since the defeat Tyron Woodley in March 2019. Since then, he has defended his title five times – twice against Colby Covington in the Jorge Masvidaland once against Gilbert Burns.
Usman is currently set to fight Leon Edwards in July, a matchup that Nigerian Nightmare won in 2015.
McGregor claims that if and when Usman defends his title for the sixth time, he wants next.
In an interview with the Mac Life YouTube channel, the Irishman said: “I believe versus Usman for the 170lb title for my comeback is the one I’m watching at the moment.
“I did not really say that to anyone to be honest, I only thought so for the last two days because for what the weight cut? I have already won the 155lb title, I went down on a light frame, but I’m big now.
“I feel great, I feel strong, I feel healthy, I have good energy. I’m coming back from a horrible injury. I do not want to lose weight, there should be no need to expand myself.
McGregor has struggled only three times in world weight, adding two wins and a single loss to his career record of 22-6-0.
His first appearance in the world title came with a loss for Nate Diaz in 2016. He then came away with a victory over Diaz just five months later, and was recently defeated Donald Cerrone in 2019.

But while McGregor’s world-weighted CV looked a bit short for a chance at a title shot, he was never one to doubt himself, and had good reason to believe he had a shot.
Also, after adding two stones since his last match, competing with 170 pounds would be the quickest way back into action for McGregor, and to avoid a major weight loss.
He added: “No one has ever reached three knockouts in three weight divisions like I did before, but no one has ever won three UFC World Cup titles across three divisions as I would do if we were to make this fight.”
