Five-star guard Robert Dillingham decommits from NC State

One of the best goals in the high school game is back on the market. This afternoon, five-star guard Robert Dillingham announces its decommentation North Carolina State.

“After careful consideration, I decided to reopen my college recruitment,” Dillingham said. “While NC State is still an option, I still want to explore my other options.”

A 6-foot-1 Junior Point Guard from Charlotte (NC) Dillingham committed to North Carolina State in early December last year and has been their highest-ranked commitment since Dennis Schmitz in 2016. He chose Wolfpack over his other finalists Kansas, Kentucky, LSUan an Memphis.

Now that his recruitment is open again, look to Dillingham to volunteer to talk about the High Great Kingdom. Here’s a scout report by National Recruiting Analyst Travis Branham on what brings the No. 1 ranked point guard to the table:

There are not many players with the ability to create direct offense like Dillingham. Arguing the most dynamic guard in the 2023 class with the ball in his hands, he is an exceptional ball handler with speed and is incredibly agile. He consistently creates scoring opportunities with deceptive crossovers, changes of speed and direction to get to his spots and has an arsenal of steps back to make room for his fatal shooting ability.

Dillingham is one of the top scorers in the whole country, regardless of class, and he brings direct insults to Raleigh and is a prospect who catches the eyes and attention of fans and opponents every time he has the ball in his hands .

At this stage he is much more of a score-first guard but has shown enough skill to create others and that he is a good passer when he is looking to play.

Preparing for the next step in his career, Dillingham must continue to grow strong, which of course will come with the maturation process, but also needs to expand his playing ability and improve his decision on the offensive end.
