Kabaddi player murder: 3 people based in Canada and Malaysia booked for conspiracy

Punjab police on Saturday claimed they had solved the murder of Kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal Ambian, who was shot dead on March 14 during a running Kabaddi match in Jalandhar village Mallian.
Police booked over a dozen people, including five shooters and another person who was hiding them. Police have also arrested four people who had already been detained at several Punjab prisons in neighboring countries.

Neither the shooters nor the person who covered them could be arrested. According to police, the shootings were arranged on the direction of a Canada-based defendant named in the FIR, Snover Dhillon.

Police said they identified the shooters, who came from Punjab and other states, but did not reveal their names.

The four people arrested were identified as Fateh Singh alias Yuvraj, Kaushal Chaudhary, Amit Dagar and Simranjeet Singh alias Jujhar Singh, who is a gangster of Uttar Pradesh’s Madhopur Pilibhit.
All four accused, who are history buffs and have faced over 20 criminal cases, mostly of murder and attempted murder, have been brought on production orders from various prisons.

Police have also nominated three main perpetrators, identified as Snover Dhillon, born in Amritsar and currently living in Brampton, Ontario, Canada and is a producer and director of the Canadian Sath TV and Radio Show. The other two are Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha Duneke alias Sukh Singh who also lives in Canada and Jagjit Singh alias Gandhi who lives in Malaysia.

As per police sources, Snover Dhillon was a coordinator and assistant to Patrick Brown, who is currently Mayor of Brampton, a member of the Conservative Party of Canada. Dhillon has a criminal record in Canada and has already been convicted of fraud, a senior police officer said.
Punjab Police Director General (DGP) VK Bhawra on Saturday said that after a thorough investigation and based on information, Fateh Singh was brought to the production order.

During the investigation, Fateh revealed that Snover Dhillon founded the National Kabaddi Federation of Ontario and tried to persuade several players to join his federation. However, most of the renowned players were with the Major League Kabaddi Federation “led by Sandeep, which did not make Snover’s federation successful. Fateh also admitted that he put some players under pressure to join the Snover Federation,” the DGP said.

SSP Jalandhar Rural Satinder Singh said Fateh admitted that following Snover’s instructions, he along with Amit Dagar, Kaushal Chaudhary, Jagjit Singh, Lucky Patiyal and Sukha Duneke had arranged shooters to kill Sandeep.

Fateh revealed that Simranjeet alias Jujhar was delivering directions to Sukh Duneke, a hideout for shooters at his family’s house, identified as Swaran Singh, in the Pritam Enclave in Amritsar.

Police recovered 18 live ammunition and 12 rifles from Swaran’s home.

Police sources also said that few Kabaddi federations are established in India and abroad with the sole purpose of participating in the drug racket and they use different players as drug dealers when participating in various tournaments abroad.

Sandeeps body cremated

Sandeep’s family finally made the post-mortem of his body and he was cremated on Saturday after police revealed they were involved in the case. Before the cremation, his last traveling procession was first taken to the grounds of his alma mater, the government school of his village Nangal Ambian, where he started playing Kabaddi.

The cremation was attended by a large number of sad fans and people from the Kabaddi world. His parents, wife, two sons and other family members were present along with several family members.
The family had previously refused to cremate the body until the accused were arrested.

The body was kept on the school grounds for some time and then brought to the cremation site.

“The people who killed this pure soul will never be at peace and we only pray to God that their families will go through the pain we are going through today,” said Jatinder Singh, a fan of Sandeep.

“He was our hero and we can never forget his sequel to Kabaddi as well as against players like us who also want to make a name for themselves in the Kabaddi world by playing a fair game without engaging in illegal trade under the guise of this game. spoiled. “said a budding Kabaddi player Amanpreet Singh.
