Kerry booked her place in the Division One Finals after a 1-13 to 0-13 victory over Armagh in the Athletic Grounds.
The Kingdom led by four points at the break and, despite not being named in the squad this week, led David Clifford for the second half.
The All-Star striker soon felt his presence as he scored the only goal of the game with a low pass past Armagh goalkeeper Ethan Rafferty, while also scoring on impressive points from both sides in a noble performance.
However, Armagh should have scored once as substitute Jason Duffy scored, but his effort was saved by Shane Ryan.
Orchard County fought gamely until the end, but Kerry was able to keep a clean sheet to advance to next month’s Division One finals.
Kieran McGeeney’s side could still join them at Croke Park if they beat Donegal at Ballybofey next Sunday and Mayo do not beat Kildare at Carrick-on-Shannon.
Here’s a look back at how today’s game played out on the Athletic Grounds. . .
