A court in Karnataka has released 28 defendants who were attacked by a mosque 15 years ago 15 years ago.
The ruling was made by JMFC Second Additional Civil Court on Friday.
In 2007, a ‘Bhagwa Dhwaj’ (saffron flag) was hoisted in the Maddur district of Mandya district, which was later burned for abuse.
Angry at this, Hindu activists barged into the mosque in the same area. Activists vandalized and burned the mosque.
About 47 people had been charged in connection with the affair. An indictment was issued against 28 people.
