Bassist Will Butler has announced that he’s joining the Montreal band Arcade Fire.

The brother of the leader of the group, Win Butler, also plays keyboards and percussion. It has been in the Arcade Fire since the beginning of the year 2000. It has recorded all the albums of the group, including the next one, Mirregistered in 2020-2021 of which the issue is expected in May.
Will Butler indicated on Twitter that he had officially left the group at the end of last year after the final touches on the upcoming album were completed.
He explained that he had no precise motive for explaining his departure other than the fact that the group and he had changed. “The moment to do something else is coming,” he wrote. He added that he had a good time with the other members of the formation.
He also indicated that he had produced a new personal album and accounted for some concerts during the season. Among his other projects: the band-song of a play by David Adjmi.
Will Butler already has three albums as a leader, the last Generation is out in 2020.
