At the design office in Forrester, Steffy listens to Thomas’ side of the conversation as he’s on the phone with Sheila. He tells her they should meet in person … it’s either that or the alternative. Sheila does not want him to come to her hotel, so they meet behind Il Giardino. Thomas separates and Steffy enters. “Thomas, what’s up?” freet si. She notices that he’s been behaving strangely lately and now he has an intense phone conversation. Steffy starts to worry and asks him to come clean about what is happening. Thomas tries to put her off and says he does his best to keep her whole family safe and happy. Steffy knows that he is as loyal to her family as anyone. Thomas has to meet someone and says he will stop her later. He goes out and after a beating Steffy follows.

In her place, Brooke tells Deacon that she thought she was doing Ridge a favor by freeing him, but now she’s not sure what she thought. Deacon Krabben that he jumped ship to the other team. Brooke agonizes that she does not want to lose him. Hope goes in with Liam and asks what’s going on. Deacon says her mom had a bad day. Brooke shouts that she can not believe the predicament in which she has placed herself. She ruined her marriage and cried out, “What have I done?” Hope decides they need someone to help her, but Brooke argues the point. Deacon has learned that it’s never too late. Brooke still has to fill in the blanks and put the pieces together about what happened that night.

In her hotel room, Sheila runs through all her confrontations with Brooke in her head from past to present. It knocks on the door – it’s Finn. Sheila is surprised but pleasant. Finn wanted to check on her and explained that he wanted to believe that he was not causing any more problems.

Finn knows she visited Steffy’s mother and reminds Sheila that she should not just show up at her office. Sheila knows, but they have a great report. Finn warns that Steffy’s family is now his family and she means the world to him. Sheila admits that she is also his family. They go over Steffy to walls when it comes to her. Sheila says Taylor was welcoming so she could hopefully change things up. Finn understands this, so he needs her to stay straight and narrow. Sheila beams when he addresses her as a “mom.” They sit down and Sheila assures her that she will not forget the mistakes she made, but all she is doing now is gearing up to get closer to him and her grandson. Finn has to keep her at arm’s length to protect his family. When she’s really reformed, he tries to stop Steffy. Sheila smiles and promises that he will never hear anything about her that would dismiss him again.
In Brooke’s place, Deacon leaves and asks Liam in hopes if his visits will contribute to their concerns. Brooke denies it, but Liam suggests that she take time alone with Sharpe from the menu if she really wants Ridge back. Hope thinks her husband has a point. Brooke chalked it up. She did not invite Deacon there – he just showed up – the same way he did that night. Brooke asks why she could not control herself then; something evil took over her and she left it. She wants Ridge, but has to find a way to explain everything to him.
In the street behind Il Giardino, Sheila assures Thomas that she would never have set up Brooke if she had not interfered with her. She thinks Taylor and Ridge should be together again, but Thomas trusts that he is torn apart. Sheila grits that he’s under Brooke’s spell and it’s time for them to break it. Thomas wants this to be best for his dad, but does not know how long he can keep it under wraps.

Steffy goes to Il Giardino, where Deacon is surprised: “Wow. Steffy Forrester … it’s been a long time. She explains that she’s looking for Thomas and asks, ‘Did you see him?’ not seen, but a bartender says he saw him in the street as he took out the trash.

In the street, Sheila warns Thomas that he must keep her secret. He repeats, “Do not you share your secret?” She argues that it’s her secret now. Thomas reminds her that she’s the one who sabotaged Brooke. “What you did was crazy, Sheila.” She shakes her head. “You are not a saint.” Thomas does not want to fire his family again. Sheila warns that this is exactly what happens when he lets Brooke back into his father’s life. She does not see the harm in her parents experiencing a new beginning together. Sheila goes on to say that Finn wants her to play a bigger role in his life. “After all these years, Thomas. We’ve been kept apart!” Behind a box, Steffy quietly crawls up and looks through the slats as Sheila tells Thomas to keep the secret and be a hero. Steffy muttered, “What the hell, Thomas? If you think I’ll not figure out what’s going on, think again.
