Boris Becker: Can tennis great remember his record-breaking Wimbledon run?

(CNN)Boris Becker, who shook the tennis world in 1985 by becoming the youngest man to win a Grand Slam singles title, turned 50 this week.

The first of six Grand Slam titles he would go on to win, Becker’s win over Kevin Curren on Center Court at Wimbledon was historic.

He joined SW19 as a fresh 17-year-old and left with a host of records: youngest winner of a men’s singles Grand Slam, Wimbledon’s youngest male singles winner (a distinction he still wears today), first unseeded Champion of the tournament and his first German winner.

Since then, of course, more history has been made.

Goran Ivanisevic joined the Germans in 2001 as the second unseeded singles champion, winning in SW19 ranked 125th in the world.

Many tennis fans remember Becker’s victory for a long time. But what about the man himself? Does Becker remember who he beat en route to his 1985 triumph?
