Even though it was not enough to leave Innisbrook with a victory, Brooks Koepka shot a final round 65 – his lowest tour round since August – which earned him 33 places on the leaderboard.
But Sunday’s round of the Valspar Championship was not up to the four-time Major Champion standards.
“To be honest with you, I thought it was possibly the worst score I could score,” said Koepka, who finished the T-12 after his 6-under final round. “It was a trend, not to get the best out of my rounds, just to get the worst out of them.”

Koepka has not won since the 2021 World Cup Phoenix Open and is currently ranked 20th in the world, up one place from last week. After missing the cut at The Players, the 31-year-old outside the world rankings top 20 won for the first time since the 2017 US Open, his first major victory.
Besides a T-3 last month in Phoenix, Koepka has only one other top-20 since last year’s Open Championship (T-16 at the Honda Classic). And Koepka – after his round said he was “surprised how easy” Sunday’s pinouts were – took another step in the right direction Sunday in Innisbrook. But he still has not reached his destination.
“I play great,” he said, “it’s just frustrating because I do not get the scores I want.”
