Justin Braun was traded to the New York Rangers by the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday.
The Flyers got a third-round pick in the 2023 NHL draft for the defenders.
“They are a good team,” Brown told TSN about the Rangers. “We’ve played a lot of them the last few years. They’re good defensively, they have the offensive weapons. Their goalkeepers are also pretty impressive, so they have a pretty good group there.”
Brown is in the final year of a two-year, $ 3.6 million contract ($ 1.8 million average annual value) he signed with the Flyers on October 5, 2020. He could become an unrestricted free agent after the season.
The 35-year-old has scored 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) and 61 games this season. Forward Frank Vatrano was acquired by the Florida Panthers ‘Rangers on March 16 for a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NHL draft, the lower-ranked New York pick or the Winnipeg Jets’ selection previously purchased by the Rangers.
