The second stage takes place on Tuesday, the 29th match in Senegal.
Ahly playmaker Magdi Afsha was recalled to the Egypt squad for a World Cup qualifier against Senegal, but there was no room for team-mate Mohamed Sherif despite his beautiful late goal.
Egypt coach Carlos Queiroz has also included three new faces in his 23-man roster for the expected two-legged clash – Ahly defender Yasser Ibrahim, Pyramids FC back Omar Gaber and midfielder Nabil Emad.

Abou-Gabal:
Mohamed Abou-Gabal, now known as Gabaski, was born on January 29, 1989. He is the first choice goalkeeper for Zamalek and the second choice goalkeeper for the Egyptian national team.
On September 3, 2011, Gabaski made his debut for the Egyptian national football team in a 2-1 away defeat against Sierra Leone, in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
He did not make another appearance for Egypt until 10 years later,
On 30 September 2021, he came on as a substitute in the 68th minute in a friendly 2-0 home win against Liberia, before making his third appearance for Egypt in the 26th Libya and 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Gabaski was included in Egypt’s squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (held 2022). He was introduced as a replacement in the 16th round of Egypt with Côte d’Ivoire. He saved Eric Bailly’s penalty, and helped Egypt advance.
In the quarter-final against Morocco, Gabaski started the match before being substituted in extra time due to an injury. He is back in the starting line-up in the semi-final against the visiting Cameroon. After extra time, the match ended in a 0-0 draw; in the next shootout, Gabaski saved 2 penalties, which helped Egypt reach the finals. Gabaski then started in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations final, where he saved Sadio Mané’s penalty and produced a series of impressive saves to keep the game at 0-0 after the end of extra time.
He helped the White Knights claim the Egyptian league title in the 2020-21 season.
