The people of Emmerdale are to be shaken by a huge catastrophe that will befall the Dingle family when Marlon (Mark Charnock) takes a massive hit in the upcoming scenes.
Marlon falls dramatically ill shortly after he and Rona (Zoë Henry) propose to each other, and the moment of pure happiness turns into an absolute heartbeat for the couple.
As Rhona tries to come up with what happened, she wonders about the future – how Marlon will change, how much help he needs, what her life will look like if she has to be his full-time operator.
The effects of Marlon’s devastating disease are far-reaching, as the popular character is so tightly integrated into the life of the village. Emmerdale Chief Laura Shaw said earlier this year that the shock waves from this “would have an impact on the entire village and its effects would be long lasting during 2022 and into 2023.”
For characters like Marlon’s ex, Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) has to face the pain as the blow has changed Marlon’s hard to bear.
