Google Chrome: CERT-In warns of some vulnerabilities for some Google Chrome users

Chennai: The IT Ministry Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a warning to those using the Google Chrome version before 99.0.4844.74 and said that several vulnerabilities have been reported in Google Chrome, “allowing a remote attacker to execute arbitrarily “Code circumvention, security breach or cause a denial of service within the targeted system”.

Exploitation of these vulnerabilities could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code, circumvent security restrictions, or cause a denial of service in the targeted system, the CERT-In notification said Thursday.

The agency recommends that users upgrade to Google Chrome version 99.0.4844.74.

CERT-In said that these vulnerabilities occur due to “still used freely in Blink Layout, Extensions, Safe Browsing, Splitscreen, ANGLE, New Tab Page, Browser UI and Heap Buffer overflow in GPU”.
