A rental platform that was set up 18 months ago but under the radar so far claims to be the first in the world to be for women only – and it says existing rental agents are too pre-occupied with transactions rather than serving the client.
The platform, Her Roomies, was launched in October 2020 and now has over 100,000 users worldwide.
A statement from the platform said: “Let agents increasingly use new technologies such as online listing, video and e-signatures. Covid has certainly driven the adoption of PropTech. However, this is really where the [agents’] the use of technology ends. “
It says traditional residential real estate rental platforms are not segmented and focus on transactional locations, while Her Roomies offers a segmented marketplace that helps owners target their properties to female tenants, and builds a community to build loyalty and longevity rather than a one-time transaction .
The platform offers all kinds of properties from rooms to entire apartments to condominiums to student housing, offers the user a flatmate compatibility tool and claims to have security-first real estate verification services.
Her Roomies was founded in October 2020 by daughter and father team Chiara Fraser and Nick Fraser.
Since launching their proof of concept model in Spain for their accommodation rental platform and community for women, they have grown their community and user base and have users in Spain, UK, Portugal, France, and the Netherlands.
The platform is currently crowdfunding on a German site.
