The 2022 LEC Spring Split Playoffs are just around the corner. One of the main candidates for the trophy is Fnatic, who finished second in the regular season. With one of the most experienced rosters in the competition, no one should write them off in the title fight.
But Team Vitality midfielder Laner Perkz has a different opinion on the matter. In a recent stream, the Croatian spoke about what it means for Fnatic to win the split.
“Fnatic is overrated,” Perkz said. “I do not think so [Fnatic] is good at all. “The middle laner explained that Fnatic has been doing badly in the Scrims in recent months.” They’re actually just like Inting Scrims for like two months now, “he said.
In Perkz’s eyes, if Fnatic were to become the king of the LEC again, it would indicate that Scrims are unreliable. “If Fnatic really wins this split, I’ll stand, I’ll actually just confirm that the Scrims are useless,” he said. “They’re certainly a very different team in Scrims and stage, as sure, but it’s just as disgusting when they’re really able to win it. If Fnatic manages to win this split, then I think the EU was the worst it ever was.
This is certainly a surprising take on the player, as Fnatic has hit Vitality twice in the regular season. His squad only qualified for the playoffs with a 9-9 record and begins its run in the lower bracket against Excel.
However, this is not the first time that Perkz has shown his confidence in his thoughts about other teams in competition. On March 4, the player said that the other teams were simply not good.
The LEC Playoffs start on Friday, March 25th. Fnatic takes on G2 Esports on Saturday, while Vitality plays Excel on Sunday.
