The Minnesota Vikings have increased six spots in the Super Bowl chances since the start of the new league year. Of course, they are still in the bottom half of the league when it comes to teams with the best chances of competing for a Lombardi Trophy, but there has been remarkable improvement since the earlier chances were released in February.
According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Vikings are now in 18th place among NFL teams at +4000 with a 2.44 implicit winning percentage in the 2022 season.
These opportunities come after team-signed quarterback Kirk Cousins signed a one-year extension and restructured key contracts, including safety Harrison Smith and wideout Adam Thielen.
The main goal for first-year general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and coach Kevin O’Connell seems to be to keep things mostly intact and try to compete for a Super Bowl.
Minnesota has not made the playoffs in the last two seasons, but there is hope that the new regime will bring the desired changes.
There are still concerns for the Vikings’ inner offensive line and defense, especially around the corner. But free agency is still not over, and the team will continue to shape the roster through the 2022 NFL draft.
