A-ha are set to perform at Cardiff Castle this summer, adding their names to the list of iconic acts performing. The Norwegian synth-pop band, known for their hit Take On Me, will headline at Cardiff Castle on Tuesday, July 5th this year – and tickets are on sale this week.
The band will be brought to Cardiff by Depot Live, who have already announced Madness as headliner at the castle on July 1st, Defected (with Gorgon City on the headlines) on July 2nd, and Pete Tong and his 55-piece orchestra on July 8. Rag ‘n’ Bone Man will also headline the depot at the Castle Festival on Saturday, July 9.

Founded by Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, Magne Furuholmen, and Morten Harket, the band became well-known in the mid-1980s and achieved their greatest success with their debut album Hunting High and Low in 1985. A-ha toured the world in 2019, however, due to the pandemic, had to stop the remaining 29 dates of the tour after performing in Auckland, New Zealand in March 2020. Now they have new shows in countries like America, Norway, Spain, and the UK.

A-Ha is one of a number of musical acts coming to Cardiff this summer. The Libertines are set to play a huge gig at Bute Park on August 5, supported by the band Sports Team, who were shortlisted for the Mercury Prize 2020.
One-Day Festival Feels Like Summer will also return to Cardiff with some amazing acts after a two-year break. Set to be held at Bute Park on August 6, Billy Ocean will be headlining, with Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Gospel House Choir, Fitness Legend Mr. Motivator and musician and dancer Bloco B also listed on the festival bill.
